Private
home Delft
This ground-floor flat covers a surface area of only 72,5 square
meters. The challenge was to give every living function (eating,
sleeping, washing, working etc.) its own place in such limited
space. The circumstances asked for an efficient and compact
solution. By limiting physical boundaries Frederiks & Van
der Nat created ample openness; the rooms and functions float
over into each other. By introducing slanting lines and the
direction changes that this realised, the vision lines are longer.
This, in combination with transparency, makes the house look
more spacious than it actually is.
