Paperlight
A simple ring of rubber is the clue of this light fixture of Niels van der Nat. By moving the ring, its shape and function changes from an open pendant to a table lamp with a slim silhouette. The paperlight is made of brown cardboard. The diamond-shaped structure of the cardboard is, like a harmonica, pushed together or pulled apart by moving the ring. The amount of light shining through the cardboard depends on the placement of this ring. The light fixture was produced in a limited edition by Goods of Amsterdam. The Victoria & Albert Museum in London has it in its own collection. |
