Frederiks & Van der Nat designed new premises for TRAIL in the canteen of the former College of Higher Laboratory Education (HLO) in Delft.
TRAIL is the Netherlands National Research Institute in the areas of transport, infrastructure and logistics, having departments at the Delft University of Technology, Rotterdam's Erasmus University and the University of Groningen.
The basis of this contemporary interior consists of two large and powerful forms that are situated in the middle of the room. By employing differences in floor levels and translucent materials transparent office interior has been created, a happy blend of openness in character and privacy in all working areas.
